ARCANE WARD
PREREQUISITES: Abjuration Specialist, about to take his 5th, 10th, 15th or 20th level in the Wizard character class
REPLACES: This Ability replaces one of the Bonus feats normally gained by a Wizard every 5 levels
EFFECT: You can weave your magic around yourself for protection.
Whenever you cast an abjuration spell of 1st level or higher (from your own spells per day, not from a magic item) you can use a strand of the spell’s magic to create a magical ward on yourself that lasts until the end of the current encounter.
The ward has hit points equal to your caster level + your Intelligence modifier.
Whenever you take damage the ward takes the damage instead. Poison, energy drain and any other effects that are part of an attack are also effectively negated. Some effects (like a wolf’s trip attempt or the improved grapple ability of some Monsters) might still affect you. If in doubt, ask your DM.
If the ward is reduced to 0 hit points you take any remaining damage (and also suffer any side effects).
While the ward has 0 hit points it can’t absorb damage, but it’s magic remains. Whenever you cast an abjuration spell of 1st level or higher, the ward regains a number of hit points equal to twice the level of the spell.
You can create the ward only once per encounter.

Entry Requirements
Alignment: any good
Skills: Concentration 9 ranks, knowledge (arcana) 2 ranks, knowledge (nobility and royalty) 2 ranks, knowledge (religion) 2 ranks, Spellcraft 6 ranks
Feats: Scribe Scroll or Etch Object Rune (CBoEM)
Martial Maneuvers: Must know at least two martial maneuvers, including one strike.
Martial Stances: Must know at least one martial stance.
Spells: Ability to cast 2nd-level arcane spells.

BAB: as Fighter
Saves: as Fighter
Class Skills (2+Int modifier per level): Balance, Climb, Concentration, Diplomacy, Handle Animal, Intimidate, Jump, Knowledge (all skills taken individually), Martial Lore, Ride, Sense Motive.

Martial Disciplines: Devoted Spirit, Iron Heart.
Maneuvers Known: +1 at every odd-numbered level.
Maneuvers Readied: +1 every three levels.
Stances Known: +1 at 5th level.

Spells: at each level except 1st and 5th.

1st: Arcane Wrath, Rune Magic
2nd: Mystic Phoenix Stance
4th: Empowering Strike
6th: Firebird Stance
8th: Quickening Strike
10th: Solar Immolation
